SOLAR CONTROL OR LOW-E
The phrase “warm glass” says little about summer comfort. A large south- or west-facing area may have a good Ug and still overheat because of a high solar factor.
Low-E retains heat while solar-control coating limits solar energy entering the room. Panoramic façades often need a balanced combination.

The coating reduces the radiative component of heat transfer through the glass.

Look beyond tint to g-value and light transmission.
Assess the façade as a whole
Orientation, canopies, ZIP shading, trees, glass area and ventilation change the required balance.
