ALUMINIUM
WINDOWS IN KYIV

Engineering, selection and installation of premium aluminium windows in Kyiv: Reynaers, Schüco and Aluron. Thermal performance, glazing, hardware and installation junctions.

BIFORIUM architectural glazing — reference project for Kyiv and the Kyiv region

CONTEXT

What matters specifically with aluminium windows.

Aluminium windows on Kyiv projects are often larger than conventional residential joinery: tall sashes, fixed panoramic panes and terrace doors. Hardware limits, frame stiffness and glass lifting access therefore become relevant very early.

An aluminium window for contemporary architecture is more than a frame and an insulating glass unit. Large vents, narrow sightlines, concealed hardware and heavy glazing require geometry, loads and support conditions to be reviewed before fabrication.

On dense urban sites, the installation route should be agreed before the glass is ordered. A pane that is straightforward to manufacture may be much harder to bring safely to the opening.

ENGINEERING

Resolve it before fabrication.

For each opening we define the opening type, permitted vent size and weight, glass make-up, target Uw and installation method. Where architecture demands narrow sightlines, systems are compared by both appearance and the real limits of the required configuration.

The aim is a window that belongs in the façade, carries the design loads and can actually be installed in the opening — without arbitrary over-specification and without weak interfaces.

SYSTEM SELECTION

Systems we compare.

We compare systems around the opening itself: visible frame width, sash weight, thermal target, hardware and the way the frame will be fixed to the building.

WHAT WE CHECK

01

Whole-window Uw

02

Vent size and weight

03

Wind actions

04

Glass make-up

05

Concealed / visible hardware

06

Installation junction

INPUT DATA

What we need for an initial review.

A first review does not require a finished construction package. Elevations, opening sizes, building height and intended opening types are enough to start.

01

Opening drawings

Elevations or a window schedule showing width, height, levels and opening direction.

02

Architectural context

Wall and façade build-up, insulation depth, finished floor level and the sightline you want to keep.

03

Glazing requirements

Orientation, solar-control and acoustic requirements, plus any areas where safety glazing is needed.

04

Installation conditions

Floor level, access to the opening, lifting options and the structure that will support the frame.

START A PROJECT

Have drawings or a specification?

Send an elevation or window schedule. We will flag the openings that need a closer look at sash size, glass, hardware or the installation detail and suggest a short list of workable systems.
