PROJECT STORY

Architecture first.

On drawings this is a glazing project. On site it quickly becomes a logistics project: heavy glass has to arrive in the right order, be moved safely into position and installed without blocking the work that follows.

Oltamar shows why large-glass installation cannot be left until the end of the design process. Machine access, stillage positions, frame sequence, base readiness and even the areas available to other trades at a given time can influence the final result.

CASE STUDY

Installation sequence

01

Moving large glass

Mechanical handling and vacuum lifting were used for the heavy units. The unloading point and the path from the truck to the opening are planned before the vehicle arrives.

02

Sequencing different systems

MasterPatio and ConceptWall 50 SG follow different installation logic. Frames, fixed areas and large infills must be sequenced so that fixings and adjustment points remain accessible.

03

Water at the lower frame

Terrace falls, waterproofing and external drainage were coordinated separately. The drainage built into an aluminium system cannot compensate for an unresolved construction detail in front of it.

What this case demonstrates

Large-format glazing installation is not only an installer task. It relies on a prepared base, machine access, a coordinated installation sequence and resolved water management before the heaviest units are placed.
