A visually flush threshold looks simple, but below it the bearing base, thermal break, system drainage, waterproofing and finishes must all fit together.

Finished floor level
FFL is fixed before the frame is ordered so the threshold does not conflict with screed and finishes.
Bearing below frame
Heavy sliding systems need a rigid, stable base across the structural bearing zone.
System drainage
Internal drainage chambers require a free path to the exterior.
Terrace water management
External channels, falls and waterproofing are coordinated with the threshold as one system.
